After sifting through this year WSOPE Media Guide, we present 10 stats and tidbits you need to know about this year’s tournament before the cards go into the air tomorrow.

The event returns with 10 WSOP gold bracelets on the line, plus a €5 million guaranteed Main Event, a €5 million guaranteed High Roller and €3 million more in guarantees during poker’s largest European festival.

In response to player feedback, WSOP has adjusted the formula to better reward bracelet winners and players who run deep, while still rewarding consistency.

With a couple upcoming poker tournaments, players will be spoiled for choice.

The 2018 edition of the World Series of Poker Europe will be held from 11 October to 2 November at King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

The 2018 Global Casino Championship, part of the World Series of Poker Circuit, will take place from 7-9 August at the North Carolina casino.

Though no bracelet was up for grabs, Dan Shak eagerly topped a field of 21 entries to earn a €210,112 payday.

Albert Hoekendijk became the fifth Dutch bracelet winner in WSOP history when he took home his first bracelet and the €170,764 prize.

Dominik Nitsche earned his fourth gold bracelet and €3,487,463 during the biggest buy-in World Series of Poker tournament of 2017.

Matous Skorepa earned €270,015, more than ten times his previous total earnings, at what turned out to be the biggest event ever at a WSOPE.

Lukas Zaskodny bested poker powerhouse Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler during a brutal three-handed match, walking away with €93,677.

Martin Kabrhel captured his first gold bracelet and €53,557 after besting the table at the inaugural No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Bounty Hunter event.

The 2017 edition of the tournament will take place in about four weeks at King's Casino in Rozvadov, with €18 million in prize pool guarantees.

The event will take place from 19-22 October at Portomaso Casino with an increased Main Event prize pool of €40,000.

On the heels of announcing a new agreement with Poker Central and the end of the November Nine Era, the World Series of Poker revealed an array of other key alterations, including a clock rule change, live TV coverage of the Main Event and eight new events.

The special edition of the tournament will be held at King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic from 24 August to 3 September.

The 13th season of the World Series of Poker Circuit will conclude at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in North Carolina this August.

The European edition of the World Series of Poker will call the casino located in Central Europe home for the foreseeable future under the terms of multi-year agreement.

The independent casino will replace all existing bill validators and printers in the casino’s 150 EGMs with JCM’s award-wining iVIZION bill validator and PayCheck 4 thermal printer.
